The Division provides relevant practical education and research, while maintaining high standards. We offer undergraduate degrees in both accounting and finance leading to careers in professional accountancy and to many roles in business. Combined degrees with many other subjects take full advantage of Stirling’s flexible modular degree structure. At postgraduate level, we offer taught MSc programmes in Investment Analysis, in International Accounting and Finance and in Finance, attracting students from all over the world.
Our research is business policy-relevant and of high quality. In the most recent Research Assessment Exercise (RAE 2008) we ranked 1st (equal) in Scotland and 5th in the UK, with virtually all (90%) research activity considered to be of international standing; this maintains the high rating (5B) achieved in RAE 2001. Our research focuses on corporate finance, auditing, corporate reporting, corporate governance and taxation. We welcome applications for PhD study in these areas.
